The Quarter-rack Scalable Router Install Guide describes the procedures for installing and verifying the operation of the Quarter-Rack Scalable Router (QSRTM) system hardware.

Hardware descriptions in this guide familiarize you with system components and their location in the QSR chassis. Descriptions include:
- QSR system hardware
- Replaceable units
- Rack mounting
Installation procedures help you to install the QSR hardware, including:
- Making the required power, safety ground, and interface connections
- Populating the chassis

The audience for this document is qualified service personnel trained in on-site network equipment installations.

What You Need to Know
To understand the information presented in this guide, you must be familiar with data communications and electronic concepts and terms.
You should also have one to two years of experience installing data communications equipment to perform the installation procedures in this guide. You must be familiar with general cabinet, shelf, and circuit board installation techniques and terminology. In addition, you must be aware of all electrical and physical safety procedures and standards.
