This chapter describes messages generated by the transport subsystem.

Critical
Message: 2nd Buffer Allocation for short Ident failed (<number>)
Meaning: An error occurred while trying to allocate memory.

Meaning: An error occurred while trying to allocate memory.

Meaning: Failed to modify interface control settings.

Meaning: An error occurred while trying to allocate memory.

Message: TDP routing table downloads restarted, tid = <n>, received <n> updates (<n> successfully)
Meaning: Internal routing table updates stopped but have now restarted.

Action: No action required - this has no operational effect.

Meaning: Internal routing table updates have stopped

Action: This is not a fatal message but could indicate a serious problem if updates do not restart. Verify another log message similar to this one, but indicating a download restart, is present after this message. If not, save your system log to a file and contact Avici Customer Support.
Message: tBayModuleCommTask: No memory for receiving bay/module comm packets!
Meaning: An error occurred while trying to allocate memory.

Meaning: An internal software component encountered an error while deleting a member of a composite-link.

Meaning: Invalid module ID in Server Attached Module message.

Meaning: Invalid module ID in keepalive message.

Message: Keepalive down with server <number>
Meaning: Server-Module keepalive is going down.

Action: This message is seen mostly during reboot. If keepalive is lost due to any other reason, contact customer support.
Message: Message from Server Attached Module <slot> but it is unregistered
Meaning: Message from Server Attached Module but it is unregistered.

Action: Save your system log to a file and contact Avici Customer Support.
Message: Message from module ID <slot> but it is unregistered
Meaning: Message from module, but it is unregisted.

Action: Save your system log to a file and contact Avici Customer Support.
Message: Module <slot> is keepalive up
Meaning: This is a normal message indicating that this module is now successfully communicating with the server.

Action: None.
Message: SAM down and no backup SAM detected
Meaning: This message indicates that the server cannot detect any server attached modules, either primary or backup.

Action: Save your system log to a file and contact Avici Customer Support.
Message: SAM link down with server <n>
Meaning: This message indicates that it was the SAM and now that link is down.

Action: None.
Message: SAM link up to server <n>
Meaning: This message indicates that this specific module has become the server attached module (SAM).

Action: None.
Message: SAM server has changed
Meaning: This message indicates that a new server is now connected to the server attached module (SAM), possibly as a result of a warm standby transition.

Action: If a server was reloaded, then this is a normal message. Otherwise, save your system log to a file, and contact Avici Customer Support.
Message: Server Attached Module can't send link response to server <number>
Meaning: Server Attached Module cannot send link response to server.

Action: Save your system log to a file and contact Avici Customer Support.
Message: Server Attached Module down and no backup Server Attached Module detected
Meaning: Server Attached Module down and no backup Server Attached Module detected.

Action: Reboot Server Attached Module. If it keeps going down, contact Avici Customer Support.
Message: Server Attached Module down but dual-Server Attached Module support turned off
Meaning: Server Attached Module down but dual-Server Attached Module support turned off.

Action: Reboot Server Attached Module or turn on the dual Server Attached Module support.
Message: Server Attached Module received invalid version <number>, expected version <number>
Meaning: Invalid version received by Server Attached Module.

Meaning: Unexpected major version in keepalive.

Message: server <number> in bay <area> slot <slot> unable to read Information from PackageFile <name>.Software Versioning checks are disabled
Meaning: The server in the bay is unable to read information from package file. Software versioning checks are disable.

Minor
Message: SAM Module <slot> is now keepalive down
Meaning: This message indicates that the server has determined that the previously active server attached module (SAM) is now no longer responding.

Action: If the module that was the server attached module has been removed or placed administratively down, this is a normal message. Otherwise, save your system log to a file, and contact Avici Customer Support.
Message: SAM module ID <slot> is timing out!
Meaning: This message indicates that the server is about to lose communication with the current server attached module (SAM).

Action: If the module that was the server attached module has been removed or placed administratively down, this is a normal message. Otherwise, save your system log to a file, and contact Avici Customer Support.
Message: Switching SAM to interface RX<n> from interface RX<n>
Meaning: This message indicates that the server has changed the acknowledged primary server attached module. The interface number (RXn) identifies which interface the server is now using to access the primary server attached module.

Action: None.

Warning
Message: KA found backup server <number>
Meaning: The Server has detected a backup server in the router.

Action: No action required.
Message: Module <bay>/<slot> is new SAM
Meaning: The Server has detected a SAM module.

Action: No action required.

Information
Message: CSC Received Message: CSET_MBL_UP, MemberID=<value>
Meaning: A normal message indicating that the module has received configuration information for the composite set from the server.

Action: None.
Message: CSC TDA Enqueue Message: Type CSET_MBL_DOWN_MSG, Size <n>
Meaning: A normal message indicating that the server has sent the module configuration information for the composite set.

Action: None.
Message: CSC Update Installed Composite-Set <n>
Meaning: A normal message indicating that IPriori has successfully created a composite set on the module.

Action: None.
Message: CSC Update Installed Member-Set <value> on Module
Meaning: A normal message indicating acknowledgement that a Composite-Link Member has been added.

Action: None.
Message: CSC Update Member-Link: State=COMPSET_MEMBER_UP, setMemID=<value>
Meaning: A normal message indicating acknowledgement that a Composite-Link Member has come up.

Action: None.
Message: Member Link Bandwidth Created UP Transition: CompSetID=<n>, BW=<n>
Meaning: A normal message indicating that the currently available aggregate bandwidth of the Composite-Link members caused the Composite-Set to change to the UP State.

Action: None.
Message: Member Link Count Created DOWN Transition: CompSet=<n>, mblDown=<n>
Meaning: The last Composite-Link Member has become INACTIVE and therefore the Composite-Link state has changed to DOWN.

Action: None.
Message: Member Link Count Created UP Transition: CompSetID=<n>, mblUp=<n>
Meaning: A Composite-Link Member has become ACTIVE and therefore the Composite-Link state has changed to UP.

Action: None.
Message: Module ID <slot> is answering again
Meaning: This message indicates that a module that had not responded to keepalive messages from the server, is now responding.

Action: Excessive instances of this message could indicate a configuration or hardware problem. Notify Avici Customer Support if you see this message more than ten (10) times a day for the same module.
Message: PPP Link POS <bay>/<slot>/<port> IPCP opened
Meaning: This is a normal message indicating PPP link state change.

Action: None.
Message: Removing module <slot> from keepalive list
Meaning: This message indicates that this module is no longer being monitored by the server, because the server believes the module has been removed, or administratively down.

Action: If the module has been removed or placed administratively down, this is a normal message. Otherwise, save your system log to a file, and contact Avici Customer Support.
Message: SONET Down:-> DLL
Meaning: Sonet service transition(s).

Action: None.
Message: SONET Up:-> DLL
Meaning: Sonet service transition(s).

Action: None.
Message: transport:Adding module <n> to keepalive list
Meaning: Normal operation. Internal TSR control protocol message.

Action: None.
