composite-link Messages

This chapter describes messages generated by the composite-link subsystem.

Warning

Message: CSC Detected Invalid ID=<composite set>, Event=<event>

Meaning: The Composite Sets component failed to find the composite set with the specified ID to perform the specified action.

Action: No action required.

Message: CSP TDQ Dequeue Returned Error=<response status> for modules <module list>

Meaning: The server failed to download a composite link message to one or more modules

Action: Save your system log to a file and contact Avici Customer Support

Information

Message: CSC Received Message: <type>, MemberID=0x<composite member>

Meaning: This message appears during normal operation when a module receives from the server a message to update a member link.

Action: No action required.

Message: CSC Received Message: CSET_MBL_UP, MemberID=0x<value>

Meaning: A normal message indicating that the module has received configuration information for the composite set from the server.

Action: None.

Message: CSC TDA Enqueue Message: Type CSET_MBL_DOWN_MSG, Size <number>

Meaning: A normal message indicating that the server has sent the module configuration information for the composite set.

Action: None.

Message: CSC Update Installed Composite-Set <number>

Meaning: A normal message indicating that IPriori has successfully created a composite set on the module.

Action: None.

Message: CSC Update Installed Member-Set 0x<value> on Module

Meaning: A normal message indicating acknowledgement that a Composite-Link Member has been added.

Action: None.

Message: CSC Update Member-Link: State=COMPSET_MEMBER_UP, setMemID=0x<value>

Meaning: A normal message indicating acknowledgement that a Composite-Link Member has come up.

Action: None.

Message: Member Link Bandwidth Created UP Transition: CompSetID=<number>, BW=<number>

Meaning: A normal message indicating that the currently available aggregate bandwidth of the Composite-Link members caused the Composite-Set to change to the UP State.

Action: None.

Message: Member Link Count Created DOWN Transition: CompSetId=<n>, mblDown=<n>

Meaning: The last Composite-Link Member has become INACTIVE and therefore the Composite-Link state has changed to DOWN.

Action: None.

Message: Member Link Count Created UP Transition: CompSetID=<number>, mblUp=<number>

Meaning: A Composite-Link Member has become ACTIVE and therefore the Composite-Link state has changed to UP.

Action: None.

Message: Module ID <slot> is answering again

Meaning: This message indicates that a module that had not responded to keepalive messages from the server, is now responding.

Action: Excessive instances of this message could indicate a configuration or hardware problem. Notify Avici Customer Support if you see this message more than ten (10) times a day for the same module.

Message: PPP Link POS <bay>/<slot>/<port> IPCP opened

Meaning: This is a normal message indicating PPP link state change.

Action: None.

Message: Removing module <slot> from keepalive list

Meaning: This message indicates that this module is no longer being monitored by the server, because the server believes the module has been removed, or administratively down.

Action: If the module has been removed or placed administratively down, this is a normal message. Otherwise, save your system log to a file, and contact Avici Customer Support.

Message: SONET Down:-> DLL

Meaning: Sonet service transition(s).

Action: None.

Message: SONET Up:-> DLL

Meaning: Sonet service transition(s).

Action: None.

Message: transport:Adding module <number> to keepalive list

Meaning: Normal operation. Internal TSR control protocol message.

Action: None.
