Field Replacement Procedure

TSR® Series II / SSR/ QSR Filler Modules

04257-00 Rev. BA

This procedure describes the installation of a filler module.

All Terabit Switch Router Series II (TSR II), Stackable Switch Router (SSR), and Quarter-rack Scalable Router (QSR) ship with filler modules in the bay/chassis. If removing a router or server, immediately install a filler module in the slot until the replacement router (or server) is reinstalled. Filler modules ensure proper cooling and the elimination of electromagnetic interference during routine operation.

NOTE For the QSR system, check the population rules detailed in the Quarter-rack Scalable Router Install Guide before installing filler modules. QSR population rules differ from those of the TSR II and SSR.
