Preface

The Terabit Switch Router Series II Install Guide (Multi-bay) describes the procedures for installing the Terabit Switch Router (TSR®) Series II system hardware for Multi-Bay installations only. For information related to installing single TSR II bays, refer to the TSR Series II Installation Guide (Single Bay).

For information related to installing single TSR bays, refer to the TSR Install Guide (Single Bay). For information related to installing multiple TSR bays, refer to the TSR Install Guide (Multi-Bay).

IIntended Audience

The audience for this document is qualified service personnel trained in on-site network equipment installations.

What You Need to Know

Familiarity with data communications and electronic concepts and terms is necessary to understand the information presented in this guide.

One to two years of experience installing data communications equipment is necessary to perform the installation procedures in this guide.You must be familiar with general cabinet, shelf, and circuit board installation techniques and terminology. In addition, you must be aware of all electrical and physical safety procedures and standards.

Administrators should be familiar with Central Office (CO) equipment operation and theory before installing the TSR system. The following documents are recommended as further reading:

The type of the configuration being installed determines the sequence of chapters that guide the installation. Refer to the table below for each specific installation.
