rsvp refresh-reduction


Enable sending summary refresh messages.

Syntax: [no] rsvp refresh-reduction

Description: The sending of summary refresh messages is disabled by default. By including multiple message IDs in a single message, summary refresh cuts down on the amount of RSVP signaling. Summary refresh messages will only be sent if the neighbor supports refresh reduction.

Use the refresh-reduction command in interface configuration mode to enable summary refresh messaging on this interface.

Use the no refresh-reduction command in interface configuration mode to disable summary refresh messaging on this interface.

Factory Default: Disabled.

Command Mode: Interface configuration.

Example 1: In the following example summary refresh messaging is enabled on interface 1/1/1:

router#configure terminal

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

router(config)#interface pos 1/1/1

router(config-if)#rsvp refresh-reduction

router(config-if)#end

router#

Example 2: In the following example summary refresh messaging is disabled on interface 1/1/1:

router#configure terminal

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

router(config)#interface pos 1/1/1

router(config-if)#no rsvp refresh-reduction

router(config-if)#end
