
rsvp promiscuous
Enables/disables message verification from RSVP neighbors.
Syntax: [no] rsvp promiscuous
Description: When promiscuous mode is enabled, this router accepts messages such as path requests from all addresses.
NOTE Accepting RSVP messages from all senders can have a negative impact on network security.
When promiscuous mode is disabled, this router will accept messages only from those addresses that are configured as RSVP neighbors.
Use the rsvp promiscuous command to configure this router to accept messages from all addresses.
Use the no rsvp promiscuous command to configure this router to accept messages only from those addresses that are configured as RSVP neighbors.
Factory Default: Requests are accepted only from configured neighbors.
Command Mode: Configuration.
Example 1: In the following example, the router is configured to accept messages from all addresses:
router#configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
router(config)#rsvp promiscuous
Example 2: In the following example, the router is configured to accept messages only from addresses that are also configured as RSVP neighbors:
router#configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
router(config)#no rsvp promiscuous
