rsvp default-resv-refresh

Defines the global value for the number of seconds to wait between sending reservation refresh messages.

Syntax: [no] rsvp default-resv-refresh n

n

The number of seconds to wait between the sending path refresh messages. Valid values are 1 - 300.

Description: RSVP relies on soft state to establish and maintain reservations in each router. Reservations must be periodically refreshed, or they are torn down. The rsvp default-resv-refresh command defines the interval between sending these refresh messages.

NOTE When an RSVP refresh timer is increased, the change may not immediately go into effect. Instead, the refresh timer is adjusted in increments of not more than 30% of the original value until the new value is reached.

When an RSVP refresh timer is decreased, the change becomes effective immediately.

Use rsvp default-resv-refresh command to set the global time to wait between refresh messages for a reservation.

Use the no rsvp default-resv-refresh command to set the global refresh time to the default value of 30 seconds.

Factory Default: 30 seconds.

Command Mode: Configuration.

Example 1: In the following example, the rsvp refresh-time command sets the global refresh time at 15 seconds:

router#configure terminal

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

router(config)#rsvp refresh-time 15

Example 2: In the following example, the no rsvp refresh-time command sets the global refresh time at the default value of 30 seconds:

router#configure terminal

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

router(config)#no rsvp refresh-time
