holding-priority

Defines/deletes the holding priorities for a tunnel, default tunnel, or tunnel parameter-set.

Syntax: [no] holding-priority [0...7]

0...7

Priority used to protect this tunnel from preemption by a new tunnel.

Description: The holding-priority value specifies the priority used when protecting this tunnel from preemption by other tunnels. A value of 0 specifies the highest priority and protects this tunnel from preemption by all other tunnels. A value of 7 specifies the lowest priority and allows all tunnels with a higher priority to preempt this tunnel. If the holding priority for an existing tunnel is the same as the reserving-priority for a new tunnel, the existing tunnel is not preempted.

NOTE If the value configured as the holding-priority is smaller than the value configured for the reserving-priority, the value of the holding priority is raised to match the reserving priority.

Use the holding-priority n command to define the holding priority for a tunnel, default tunnel, or tunnel parameter-set.

Use the no holding-priority n command to delete the holding priority for a tunnel, default tunnel, or tunnel parameter-set.

Factory Default: 7 (lowest priority).

Command Mode: Traffic engineering parameter-set and traffic engineering tunnel-name.

Example: In the following example, the holding-priority command sets the holding priority for tunnel oc12toBos to 1, and the show mpls te tunnel command displays the setting:

router(config)#mpls te ospf

router(config-te)#tunnel oc12toBos

router(config-te-tunnel)#holding-priority 1

router(config-te-tunnel)#end

router#show mpls te tunnel

tunnel oc12toBos
