adaptivity disabled
Configures the tunnel to not move when a better path becomes available.
Syntax: adaptivity disabled
no adaptivity
Description: The adaptivity attribute determines how a tunnel responds when new network resources become available or when resource parameters change such that "better" paths become available. There are 4 adaptivity methods: disabled, pinned, periodic, and linear.
Disabled adaptivity means that the tunnel is not re-routed when new network resources become available or other changes make an alternate path more preferable. The tunnel will move if the traffic engineering data base indicates the path no longer meets restrictions such as administrative color or available bandwidth.
Use the adaptivity disabled command to configure the tunnel, default tunnel or parameter-set to not move when new resources become available.
Use the no adaptivity command to remove an adaptivity specification.
Factory Default: Periodic 3600s jitter 720s.
Command Mode: Traffic engineering parameter-set and traffic engineering tunnel-name.
Example 1: In the following example, the adaptivity disabled command configures the tunnel not to move when new network resources become available:
router#configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
router(config)#mpls te ospf
router(config-te)#tunnel oc12toBos
router(config-te-tunnel)#adaptivity disabled
Example 2: In the following example, the no adaptivity disabled command configures the tunnel to reroute using the default method (periodic) and timers (time = 36,000 milliseconds and jitter = 720 milliseconds):
router1#configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
router(config)#mpls te ospf
router(config-te)#tunnel oc12toBos
router(config-te-tunnel)#no adaptivity
Related Commands: adaptivity linear
adaptivity periodic
adaptivity pinned
