hostname dynamic
Enables/disables display of hostname-to-system ID mappings.
Syntax: [no] hostname dynamic
Description: Use the hostname dynamic command to enable the display of hostname-to-system ID mappings in IS-IS show commands.
Use the no hostname dynamic command to disable the display of hostname-to-system ID mappings.
Factory Default: Mapping enabled.
Command Mode: Router configuration.
Example: In the following example:
- The show isis neighbor command displays IS-IS neighbor systems using system IDs.
- The router isis command enables IS-IS on the router, specifies an IS-IS instance, and changes the command mode to Router configuration.
- The hostname dynamic enables hostname-to-system ID mappings.
- The show isis neighbor command displays IS-IS neighbor systems using hostnames.
