Before beginning this procedure, carefully inspect the package to ensure no damage occurred during shipping or delivery. If you suspect any possible damage to any field replacement unit, contact Customer Service immediately.

When handling cooling modules, wear a grounded antistatic wrist strap or equivalent protection to avoid damaging electronic parts.Tools Needed

Removing the Front Air Intake Grille and Plenum
PROCEDURE: Use the following steps to remove the air intake grille from the bottom-front of the bay:
Step 1 Grasp the latches on the cable door panels on the left and right sides of the bay and press outward to release the latches and open the doors.
Step 2 Grasp the face of the front air intake grille firmly by the air vents.
Step 3 Pull the assembly toward the front of the bay to release the four ball studs from the receptacles holding the assembly in place (see Figure 1).

Step 4 Remove the front grille by turning four winged screws 1/4 turn to counterclockwise (see Figure 1).
Step 5 Turn the swivel bar in the center to the vertical position.
Step 6 The front air plenum assembly attaches at the top center with two Phillips screws and pivots down on two tabs at the bottom.

- Use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws (see Figure 2).

Step 7 Remove the front air intake plenum assembly and its two filters.
Removing the Cooling Module
The two cooling modules are at the bottom of the TSR bay, and reside on nylon rails just above the bay controller modules.
PROCEDURE: Use the following steps to remove the cooling module from the TSR bay:
Step 1 Grasp the faceplate handle on the cooling module with one hand and carefully pull the cooling module toward the front of the bay (a few inches) to disengage it from its slot in the rear power input panel (see Figure 3).

Step 2 With one hand, pull the cooling module halfway out of the bay using the handle grip on the front of the unit.
NOTE The unit weighs approximately 16 lb. Use proper lifting procedures.
Step 3 Grasp the second handle grip on the top of the unit and slide it out of the bay (see Figure 3).
Installing the New Cooling Module
PROCEDURE: Use the following procedure to install the new cooling module:
Step 1 Lift and align the cooling module onto the nylon rails.
Step 2 Grasp the faceplate handle with one hand and slowly slide the cooling module toward the rear of the bay until it is connects firmly in the backplane (see Figure 4).

Reinstalling the Front Air Plenum Assembly and Grille
PROCEDURE: Use the following procedure to install the front air plenum assembly and grille:
Step 1 Lay the front air plenum assembly in a horizontal position with the two tabs facing the receiving slots in the bottom of the TSR II chassis.
Step 2 Engage the tabs and swing the front air plenum assembly up until it contacts the TSR II chassis
Step 3 Secure air plenum assembly at the top with two Phillips head screws.
Step 4 Secure the front grille with four winged 1/4 turn screws.Turn clockwise to secure.

Step 5 Grasp the face of the grille firmly by the air vents.
Step 6 Push the grille to engage the four ball studs into their receptacles (see Figure 6).
