Preface

The Terabit Switch Router Site Preparation Guide provides you with the requirements and specifications necessary to prepare your site for a successful Terabit Switch Router (TSR^®) system installation.

About This Document

This document contains physical and electrical specifications for the TSR system.

This document provides adequate information to prepare your site for installation of a new TSR system.

The information in this document is based on national and international standards or Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requirements. The objective of this criteria is to:

Prevent personal injury

Simplify equipment planning and installation

Prevent interference to other equipment on the network

Minimize the risk of fires to network facilities and equipment

Prevent equipment or network outages in the event of an earthquake

Ensure compatibility within the network electrical environment

Intended Audience

This document is intended for use by central office personnel who have experience in facilities planning and by Avici service personnel trained in site planning and TSR system installation.

Personnel should be familiar with the TSR system hardware and central office equipment and procedures.

Installers should be very familiar with network hardware operation and theory before planning the installation of a TSR system. The following documents are recommended as further reading.
