Sets the password for login.
Syntax: system-password { 0 | 7 } password

Enter a clear-text password.

The following argument is already encrypted.
password
An alphanumeric string of between 4 and 20 characters.
Description: The system-level password controls access to the Avici router and the executive level of commands. To execute any other commands, you must enter privileged mode with the enable command.
Use the system-password 0 password command to indicate that the text string is entered in clear text.
NOTE The string is encrypted before it is saved.
Use the system-password 7 password command to indicate that the string is already encrypted. For example, if you cut and paste this command from another configuration file, the password is already encrypted.
Factory Default: avici
Command Mode: Configuration.
Example: In the following example, the system password is set to bigrouter:
router>enable
enter password:
router#configure terminal
router(config)#system-password 0 bigrouter
router(config)#exit
router#show running config
