show redundancy


Displays redundancy information associated with this router.

Syntax: show redundancy [verbose]

Description: Use the show redundancy command to display redundancy mode and statistics information for this router. The default display shows redundancy mode information. The verbose option displays redundancy mode and statistics information.

Factory Default: brief.

Command Mode: Privileged.

Example: The following is sample output of the show redundancy command:

router#show redundancy

Redundancy Characteristics:



Administrative mode: Hot

Operational mode: Hot

Total fail-overs:  2

router#show redundancy verbose

The following table describes the fields in the display:

Field Description

Administrative mode:

Displays the configured redundancy mode for this router. The administrative mode for all route controllers is determined by the configuration of the primary route controller. Valid values are:

  • hot - This router is configured for Non-Stop Routing.

  • warm - This router is configured for Warm.

  • cold - This router is a single server router and not protected for redundancy.

Operational mode:

Displays the operational redundancy mode for this router. Operational mode is determined by the achieved configuration. Valid values are:

  • hot - This router is operating in Non-Stop Routing mode.

  • warm - This router is operating in Warm mode.

  • cold - This router is not protected for redundancy.

Total fail-overs

Specifies the number of times the router has failed-over from primary to its backup.

Fail-over threshold

Specifies the number of fail-overs that may take place within the fail-over window duration before a system reboot is performed.

Fail-over window:

Specifies the duration in which the number of fail-overs specified in the fail-over threshold value can take occur before a system reboot is performed.

Fail-overs tracked

Specifies the number of tracked failovers.
