failover window
Specifies a threshold and duration used to guard against continual route controller failovers caused by a pathological condition.
Syntax: failover window [duration durationVal] [threshold thresholdVal]
durationVal
Specifies the time within which the failover threshold must be reached to cause a system reboot. Duration is set in hours, minutes, and seconds delineated by a colon (:). The format is hours:minutes:seconds, e.g. 05:00:00 = 5 hours, 00:01:30 = 1 minute and 30 seconds. 00:30:00 30 minutes. Valid values for: hours = 00-24, minutes = 00-59, seconds = 00-59. Default = 30 minutes
thresholdVal
Specifies the number of failovers that must take place within the time set by duration to cause a system reboot. Valid values = 1 - 5. Default = 3.
Description: If multiple failovers take place within a short period of time it can be symptomatic of a pathological failure that requires a system reset to clear. To guard against pathological failures, the failover window can be configured for a threshold that if reached within a configured duration will cause an automatic system reset.
Use the failover window command in redundancy configuration command mode to set the failover window for this router.
Use the default failover window command in redundancy configuration command mode to reset threshold and duration values to default.
Use the show redundancy verbose command to display failover window values for this Avici router.
Factory Default: Duration = 30 minutes, Threshold = 3 failovers.
Command Mode: Redundancy configuration.
Example 1: The following example configures the failover window for 5 failovers within 1 hour and 30 minutes:
router#configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
router(config)#redundancy
router(config-redundancy)#failover window duration 01:30:00 threshold 5
router(config-redundancy)#end
router#show redundancy verbose
Redundancy Characteristics:
Administrative mode: Hot
Operational mode: Hot
Total fail-overs: 0
Fail-over threshold: 5
Fail-over window: 5400 seconds
Fail-overs tracked: 0
router#Example 2: The following example resets failover window values to default:
router#configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
router(config)#redundancy
router(config-redundancy)#default failover window
router(config-redundancy)#end
router#show redundancy verbose
Redundancy Characteristics:

Operational mode: Hot
Total fail-overs: 0
Fail-over threshold: 3
Fail-over window: 1800 seconds
Fail-overs tracked: 0
