failover

Causes an intentional, graceful NSR® failover from primary to backup without incrementing the failure threshold statistic.

Syntax: failover

Description: There are times when it is desirable to execute an intentional failover from the current primary route controller to its backup. The failover command provides for an intentional failover by verifying that a hot backup route controller exists and has an up-to-date configuration. Because the failover is intentional, the failure threshold counter, set using the failover window command, will not increment when using the failover command. This command should be used instead of the reload command for manually initiating an NSR® failover.

Factory Default: None.

Command Mode: Privileged.

Example: The following example configures the failover window for 5 failovers within 1 hour and 30 minutes:

router#failover

Server is in HA Primary mode.

Do you really want to re-load (y/n)[n]: yes

Clearing the crashdump flag!
