
clock set
Sets the system clock.
Syntax: clock set hh:mm[:ss][day month|month day] year
hh
Current time in hours. This is a 24 hour clock. The leading zero is optional for single digit hour values.
mm
Current time in minutes. A leading zero is required for values less than 10 minutes.
ss
Current time in seconds. A leading zero is required for values less than 10 seconds.
day
The day of the month.
month
The full name of the month.
year
The four-digit number of the year.
Description: The Avici router server uses an internal clock to mark the time of day. The clock is set to Eastern Standard Time at the factory. To set the actual time, use the clock set command and enter the current day, date, and time.
The Avici router server uses the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) to monitor and adjust its time-of-day clock. However, to override the SNTP clock, use the clock set command.
Factory Default: Set to EST at the factory.
Command Mode: Privileged.
Example: To set the system clock to 10:05 am on June 8th, 1998, use the following command:
router#clock set 10:05:00 08 june 2001
router#show clock
10:05:01.100 Wed Jun 8 2001
