
clear counters
Clears the specified counters on the specified interface or module, or all modules.
Syntax: clear counters [interface-counters | extension-counters | inflow-counters | fabric-counters | ip-traffic-counters | access-list | all] [interface [pos bay/slot/port | gbe bay/slot/port |composite-link name | all]]

Clear interface counters.
extension-counters
Clear extension counters.
inflow-counters
Clear inflow counters.
fabric-counters
Clear fabric counters.
ip-traffic-counters
Clear IP Traffic counters.
access-list
Clear counters for the specified access-list
module-counters
Clear Module counters.
interface pos bay/slot/port
Clear counters for the specified POS interface.
interface composite-link name
Clear counters for the specified composite link interface.
interface gbe bay/slot/port
Clear counters for the specified Gigabit Ethernet interface.
module bay/slot
Clear counters for the specified module.
all
Clear counters for all modules or interfaces.
Description: Use the clear counters command to clear counters the specified counters on a specified interface, on all the interfaces of a module, or on all modules.
The general syntax for the command is:
clear counters <counter-type><interface|module|all><platform-id>
where "counter-type" is one of the following:
- interface-counters
- extension-counters
- inflow-counters
- fabric counters
- ip-traffic-counters
- access-list
- all counters
and "platform ID" is one of the following:
- pos bay/slot/port
- gbe bay/slot/port
- composite-link name
- module ID (bay/slot)
- all modules
Use the all keyword immediately after the command to clear all types of counters on the specified interface or module.
Use the interface-counters keyword immediately after the command to clear only the interface counters on the specified interface or module.
Use the extension-counters keyword immediately after the command to clear only the extension counters on the specified interface or module.
Use the inflow-counters keyword immediately after the command to clear only the inflow counters on the specified interface or module.
Use the fabric-counters keyword immediately after the command to clear only the fabric counters on the specified interface or module.
Use the ip-traffic-counters keyword immediately after the command to clear only the IP traffic counters on the specified interface or module.
Enter the name of a valid access-list after the command to clear the counters associated with that access list on the specified interface or module.
Use the module-counters keyword immediately after the command to clear only the module counters on the specified module.
Use the interface pos bay/slot/port, interface composite-link name, or the interface gbe bay/slot/port arguments to clear the specified counters only on the specified interfaces.
Use the module bay/slot argument to clear the specified counters on the specified module.
Use the module all argument to clear the specified counters on all modules.
Factory Default: None.
Command Mode: Privileged.
Example 1: In the following example, the clear counters command clears the inflow counters for all interfaces on module 1/6:
router#clear counters inflow-counters module 1/6
Example 2: In the following example, the clear counters command clears all counters for POS interface 1/6/1:
router#clear counters all interface pos 1/6/1
Example 3: In the following example, the clear counters command clears the interface counters for all modules:
router#clear counters interface-counters module all
Example 4: In the following example, the clear counters command clears all counters for all modules:
router#clear counters all module all
