sonet threshold section
Sets the threshold values for events occurring in the local end of the section layer of a SONET connection.
Syntax: [no] sonet threshold section [cv cv-val | es es-val | ses ses-val | uas uas-val]
cv cv-val
Sets the threshold for the number of Coding Violations (CV) encountered by a SONET/SDH section in a particular 15 minute interval required to generate an SNMP trap. Valid values are integers between 1 and 4294967295.
es es-val
Sets the threshold for the number of Errored Seconds (ES) encountered by a SONET/SDH section in a particular 15 minute interval required to generate an SNMP trap. Valid values are integers between 1 and 900.
ses ses-val
Sets the threshold for the number of Severely Error Framing Seconds (SEFS) encountered by a SONET/SDH section in a particular 15 minute interval required to generate an SNMP trap. Valid values are integers between 1 and 900.
sefs sefs-val
Sets the threshold for the number of Severely Error Framing Seconds (SEFS) encountered by a SONET/SDH section in a particular 15 minute interval required to generate an SNMP trap. Valid values are integers between 1 and 900.
Description: Use the sonet threshold section command to set the thresholds for the CV, ES, SES and UAS events for this interface.
Use the no sonet threshold section command to set the thresholds for the CV, ES, SES and UAS events to the default values.
NOTE This command defines the thresholds for various events that occur on a SONET section. You must use the snmp trap sonet section command to send traps when these thresholds are exceeded.
Factory Default: 1 (all thresholds).
Command Mode: Interface configuration.
Example: In the following example, the sonet threshold section command configures POS interface 1/1/1 to send an SNMP trap when the number of SEFS encountered by a SONET/SDH section in a particular 15 minute interval rises above a threshold of 5:
router#configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
router(config)#interface pos 1/1/1
router(config-if)#sonet threshold section sefs 5
router(config-if)#end
