show fabric counters

Displays fabric counters for all modules or a specified module.

Syntax: show fabric counters [module bay/slot]

module bay/slot

Identifies a module whose fabric channels are displayed.

Description: The Avici router employs a three dimensional toroidal mesh interconnection between each line card installed into the backplane. Each routing module forms the intersection of three bi-directional rings in three dimensions:

X dimension (+ and -)

Y dimension (+ and -)

Z dimension (+ and -)

Packets are forwarded from module to module along these links. Packets are inserted into and extracted from the fabric along two additional links:

Use the show fabric counters command to display the number of packets inserted into the fabric, extracted from the fabric, and forwarded to another module along the fabric links for the module.

Use the show fabric counters command with no arguments to display fabric counters for all modules.

Use the show fabric counters module bay/slot command to display fabric counters for the specified module.

Factory Default: None.

Command Mode: Executive and privileged.

Example: The following is sample output of the show fabric counters module bay/slot command:

X+, X-, Y+,Y-, Z+, Z-

The link along which packets and flits are forwarded through the fabric.

E+, E-

The link along which packets and flits are extracted to or from the fabric.

Packets Inserted

Packets inserted into the fabric from this module, destined for another module in the system.

Packets Forwarded

Packets forwarded through this module destined for another module.

Flits Forwarded

Flits forwarded through this module destined for another module.

A packet is partitioned into two or more 'flits' before being inserted into the fabric.

Packets Self Extracted

Packets received on this module's line interface whose destination is this module and were extracted from the fabric.

Packets Fabric Extracted

Packets extracted from the fabric whose destination is this module.

Flits Fabric Extracted

Flits extracted from the fabric whose destination is this module.

A packet is partitioned into two or more 'flits' before being inserted into the fabric.
