This chapter describes the commands to configure and display the Avici router fabric.
Use the commands in this chapter to:
- Display the fabric version
- Enable/disable fabric links on a module
- Modify Heuristic Link Transition Filter (HLTF) values
- Enable/disable HLTF
- Display the channels from a routing module to other modules
- Display the number of packets inserted, forwarded and extracted along each of 12 channels per routing module
- Display the 6 paths between a module and specified destination module
- Display the fabric links for a specified module or all modules
- Display the fabric links connectivity status
X, Y, and Z Axes
Each routing module consists of a switch card coupled with one of several types of line interface cards. The active portion of the switch fabric is incorporated into each switch card. The switch card is common to all Avici router routing modules.
Each module represents an intersection of three bi-directional axes: X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis. Data from a routing module can move in either direction along any of the axes.
Fabric Channels
Each routing module has at least one unique fabric channel assigned to it. Each fabric channel has a partitioned set of resources (buffers) to support the transmission of packets across the Avici fabric. Since each channel has its own resources, traffic on one channel does not affect traffic on another.
Heuristic Link Transition Filter
IPriori supports a Heuristic Link Transition Filter (HLTF). HLTF is a means of avoiding excessive link bounce by allowing you to set, for each fabric axis, the number of down events that may occur within a set period before the link is administratively taken down.
