failover

Provides for a graceful fail-over from a hot primary to backup route controller.

Syntax: failover

Description: Use the failover command to perform an intentional graceful fail-over. The failover command first verifies that a hot backup route controller exists and has an up-to-date configuration. Because the failover is intentional, the failure threshold counter will not increment when using this command.

Factory Default: None.

Command Mode: Privileged.

Example: The following command executes a fail-over from a hot primary to a backup route controller:

router#failover
