This chapter includes the commands to configure central office alarms, including commands to:
- Silence alarms that are sounding
- Display alarms
- Test the bay LEDs
Central office alarms report the occurrence of events such as a component failure or various temperature thresholds being exceeded. Alarms originate in either a bay controller or server.
There are three levels of central office alarms: critical, major and minor. Alarms are both visual and audible. Three LEDs located on the Avici router bay are used to visually display alarms. For each type of alarm, the appropriate LED lights on the Avici router bay, and the appropriate visual and audible alarm activates in the central office, regardless of whether the alarm originates in the server or bay controller. A message is logged when an alarm occurs.
