aaa key
Defines the encryption key used by AAA for all AAA servers or for a specified AAA server.
Syntax: [no] aaa {tacacs | radius} host hostname key secret
host
Allows the key to be configured for the specified hostname.
hostname
The DNS hostname of an AAA server.
secret
String used as the encryption key by TACACS+.
Description: Use the aaa key secret command to define the encryption key for all AAA servers.
Use the host hostname keyword and argument to define an encryption key only for the specified server.
Use the no aaa key command to clear the global encryption key.
Use the no aaa {tacacs | radius} host hostname key secret to clear the key for the specified AAA server.
Factory Default: No key configured.
Command Mode: Configuration.
Example 1: In the following example, the aaa radius host hostname key command configures the encryption key for a single AAA server:
router#configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
router(config)#aaa radius host aaaserver4 key avicisystems
Example 2: In the following example, the no aaa radius host key command clears the specified key:
router#configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
router(config)#no aaa radius host aaaserver4 key
