show interface ethernet


Displays information about interface ethernet 0.

Syntax: show interface ethernet 0

Description: The Avici router interfaces include a single Ethernet interface to support attachment of customer network management entities to the Avici router server. This interface provides IP host functions and does not support routing.

Use the show interface ethernet 0 command with to display information about the ethernet interface to the server.

Factory Default: None.

Command Mode: Executive and privileged.

Example: In the following example, show interface ethernet 0 command displays information about the Ethernet interface:

NOTE The Ethernet interface supports attachment of customer network management entities to the Avici router server and does not support routing.

router#show interface ethernet 0

Field Description

Internet address

Internet address of the interface.

Broadcast address

IP address to which this interface sends broadcast packets.

Ethernet address

MAC address of the interface.

MTU

Maximum transfer unit size for this interface.

BW

Bandwidth of the interface in Mbit/sec.

Encapsulation

The encapsulation protocol on this interface.

Received:

  • bytes

The total number of packets received over this interface.

  • directed packets

The number of unicast packets received on this interface.

  • multicast packets

The number of multicast packets received on this interface.

  • broadcast packets

The number of broadcast packets received on this interface.

  • discards

The number of received packets purposely dropped during reception on this interface.

  • errors

The number of errored packets received on this interface.

  • unknown protocols

The number of packets received with an unknown protocol.

Transmitted:

  • bytes

The total number of bytes sent over member links of this interface.

  • directed packets

The number of unicast packets sent on this interface.

  • multicast packets

The number of multicast packets sent on this interface.

  • broadcast packets

The number of broadcast packets sent on this interface.

  • discards

The number of packets purposely dropped during transmission on this interface.

  • errors

The number of packets sent in error on this interface.
