On February 28, 2008 Avici Systems, announced it will change its name to Soapstone Networks, Inc.

The business transition, completed in March 2008, effectively changes the NASDAQ ticker symbol from "AVCI" to "SOAP."

Avici Systems delivered the final shipment of core router products during the fourth quarter of 2007. Accordingly, while we expect ongoing service revenue in 2008 from our primary core router customer, we no longer expect core router product revenue, nor are we resourced to manufacture large volumes of our legacy router product following the last time buy completed in the fourth quarter 2007. Avici Systems initially announced the business transition from the development and sales of the core routers to focus on Soapstone Networks in February 2007.
